Trends in Hollywood horror genre today once again switching. First beginning with the success of the remake of The Ring and The Grudge makes studios vying to remake Asian horror movies. Now see the market is already bored with the movie style, they are busy doing a reboot of the franchise-long horror franchise them. After The Amityville Horror and Halloween gets a new reboot, this time turn the most populerlah horror franchise that worked. Friday the 13th. Last viewers see Jason in action as he duels against Freddy in the crossover Freddy vs. Jason (by the way, A Nightmare on Elm Street next year is also going to get a reboot). This time Jason would no longer share the victim. After wandering up into space, Jason is now back again in their natural habitat at Camp Crystal Lake. How much more blood will be spilled in this movie?

The film begins in 1980. A girl was attacked by a middle-aged women. Not long after she was successfully cut off the head of the middle-aged women. When she later escaped, the bodies of middle-aged woman was found by his son. Settings and then switch to the age now when five people were camped at a place called Camp Crystal Lake that. The five were then attacked by Jason. Not out how his fate, six weeks and then once again there is another group who want to camp at Camp Crystal Lake. Simultaneously, Clay Miller came to town to find his sister Whitney Miller, is included in the group of five people who were previously attacked by Jason. Local police have given up the search for Whitney and his friends and include them in the list of missing persons. Clay was not yet fully believe and decided to look for her sister's own. As predictable, the new group who want to camp near Camp Crystal Lake was again chased by Jason.

I am disappointed with this film. Formerly with the success of this film in the U.S. box office (when released on Friday, February 13, this film exceeded 40 million USD at the opening weekendnya), I think that this film can give an impressive new beginning for this franchise. I've lost my expectations changed sense of disappointment to see this reboot was just following standard similar movies: kill those idiots in the display. I can honestly say that I feel sympathetic to what Jason in this film because almost all the characters in this movie sucks and deserve to be killed. With the exception of a duet brothers Clay and Whitney Miller, and Jenna, all the characters in this film were slaughtered by following the standard. Do not believe? There is killed when the middle of sex. There also are killed because of his entourage went away. Some were killed because of reckless visit areas they should not go. Every time I watch and see they killed Jason instead of me sorry, I rolled my eyes even as she commented "Rasain ... Bego hell ...". That even a little beyond my estimation is this movie not too much indulgence in blood. Sadistic sadistic hell, but still below the level of gore from the Halloween remake or the Saw franchise.

From a row of his own players, who immediately caught my attention is Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, and Amanda Righetti. Jared Padalecki is probably the most popular because they play in the series Supernatural is quite popular here. Danielle Panabaker still cute and I think his presence here include a sense of missed me after four years of not seeing him after Sky High, when he got a role as good girl this rate, I believe he has the capacity to become The Next American Sweetheart. Amanda Righetti somehow seemed dull and ugly in this movie (and its role was reduced to damsel in distress), in contrast to her as Grace Van Pelt on The Mentalist who are beautiful too tough. The most attention is Aaron Yoo stole the show loose and often the angler laughter. The rest? Let's just say all the characters are annoying and thirsty guy sex and girl characters that job just spit (sorry) their breasts.

In the end, Friday the 13th does not offer anything new. This is only a reboot is trying menyempilkan many things that make this franchise was popular, but even so flat and cliche because of forced entry in one movie. Just watch original movies, at least that it still had a pretty shocking plot twist at the end of the film.

Tren genre horror di Hollywood kini lagi-lagi beralih. Dulu diawali dengan kesuksesan remake The Ring dan The Grudge membuat studio berlomba-lomba meremake film-film horror Asia. Kini melihat pasar sudah bosan dengan film bergaya tersebut, mereka sibuk melakukan reboot dari franchise-franchise horror lama mereka. Setelah The Amityville Horror dan Halloween mendapat reboot baru, kali ini giliran franchise horror paling populerlah yang digarap. Friday the 13th. Terakhir penonton melihat Jason beraksi ketika ia duel melawan Freddy dalam crossover Freddy VS Jason (omong-omong, A Nightmare on Elm Street tahun depan juga bakalan mendapat reboot). Kali ini Jason tak mau lagi berbagi korban. Setelah berkelana sampai ke luar angkasa, Jason kini kembali lagi dalam habitat aslinya di Camp Crystal Lake. Berapa banyak lagi darah yang akan tumpah dalam film ini?

Film diawali pada tahun 1980. Seorang gadis tengah diserang oleh seorang wanita paruh baya. Tak berapa lama kemudian gadis itu sukses memenggal kepala sang wanita paruh baya. Ketika gadis itu kemudian melarikan diri, mayat sang wanita paruh baya ditemukan oleh anaknya. Setting kemudian beralih ke jaman sekarang ketika lima orang berkemah di tempat yang disebut Camp Crystal Lake itu. Kelimanya kemudian diserang oleh Jason. Tak ketahuan bagaimana nasibnya, enam minggu kemudian lagi-lagi ada rombongan lain yang hendak berkemah di Camp Crystal Lake. Secara bersamaan, Clay Miller datang ke kota tersebut untuk mencari saudarinya Whitney Miller, termasuk dalam rombongan lima orang yang sebelumnya diserang oleh Jason. Kepolisian setempat sudah menyerah dalam mencari Whitney dan kawan-kawannya dan memasukkan mereka dalam daftar orang hilang. Clay toh tidak sepenuhnya percaya dan memutuskan untuk mencari saudarinya itu sendiri. Seperti yang bisa ditebak, rombongan baru yang hendak berkemah dekat Camp Crystal Lake lagi-lagi diburu oleh Jason.

Saya kecewa dengan film ini. Tadinya dengan kesuksesan film ini di box office Amerika (ketika dirilis pada Jumat tanggal 13 Februari, film ini menembus angka 40 Juta USD pada opening weekendnya), saya menyangka bahwa film ini bisa memberi awal baru yang mengesankan bagi franchise ini. Ekspektasi saya hilang berganti rasa kecewa melihat ternyata reboot ini hanya mengikuti pakem film serupa: membunuh orang-orang idiot dalam layar. Jujur saya katakan kalau saya merasa simpatik dengan apa yang dilakukan Jason dalam film ini karena hampir semua karakter yang ada dalam film ini menyebalkan dan layak dibunuh. Dengan perkecualian duet bersaudara Clay dan Whitney Miller serta Jenna, semua karakter di dalam film ini dibantai dengan mengikuti pakem. Tidak percaya? Ada yang tewas ketika tengah berhubungan seks. Ada juga yang tewas karena menjauh pergi dari rombongannya. Ada yang tewas karena nekat mendatangi wilayah yang tak harusnya mereka datangi. Setiap kali saya menonton dan melihat mereka dihabisi Jason bukannya saya kasihan, saya malah memutar bola mata saya sembari berkomentar “Rasain… Bego sih…”. Yang malahan sedikit di luar perkiraan saya adalah film ini tidak terlalu banyak mengumbar darah. Sadis sih sadis, tetapi masih di bawah tingkat gore dari remake Halloween ataupun franchise Saw.

Dari deretan pemainnya sendiri, yang langsung menarik perhatianku adalah Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, dan Amanda Righetti. Jared Padalecki mungkin yang paling populer karena bermain dalam serial Supernatural yang cukup ngetop di sini. Danielle Panabaker menurut saya tetap imut dan kehadirannya di sini memasukan rasa kangen saya setelah empat tahun tak melihat dia usai Sky High, bila ia mendapat peran seperti good girl begini terus, saya percaya ia memiliki kapasitas menjadi The Next American Sweetheart. Amanda Righetti entah kenapa tampak kusam dan jelek di film ini (dan perannya diturunkan menjadi damsel in distress), berbeda dengan dirinya sebagai Grace Van Pelt di The Mentalist yang selain cantik juga tangguh. Yang paling mencuri perhatian adalah Aaron Yoo yang tampil lepas dan sering menjadi pemancing tawa. Sisanya? Anggap saja semuanya karakter-karakter cowo yang menyebalkan dan haus seks serta karakter-karakter cewe yang kerjaannya hanya mengumbar (maaf) buah dada mereka.

Pada akhirnya, Friday the 13th tidak menawarkan apa-apa yang baru. Ini hanya sebuah reboot yang berusaha menyempilkan banyak hal yang membuat franchise ini dulu ngetop tapi malahan jadi datar dan klise gara-gara dipaksakan masuk dalam satu film. Tonton saja film orisinilnya, setidaknya yang itu masih punya plot twist yang cukup mengejutkan pada penghujung film.
