Now the time has come for Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) to carry out their noble task: to find and destroy Voldemort's key strengths (Ralph Fiennes). Harry Potter is Daniel Radcliffe. Hermione Granger is Emma Watson. Ron Weasley is Rupert Grint. It is undeniable is that the third actor / actress is already synonymous with the characters they played since almost ten years ago. That fact alone makes HARRY POTTER AND THE Deathly Hallows first part of this win on paper. A decade had three of them to accompany us and quite a long time it has carved out a very strong impression in the minds of the audience.

Harry Potter series is already approaching graduation. One film after another and had this fantasy story. Maybe the fact it is also what makes this film so special is more than the previous sections. But wait. So it may be sentimental but somehow the film still has a fixed value that can not be ruled out. From the visual side, it is clear there is nothing to fear from this film. As usual, fantastic scenes can be made as realistic as if it really happened but of course not the only problem.

Problem storyline does not need much mention because the version of his novel was first published and it seems inappropriate if we underestimate the work of JK Rowling who has received awards everywhere. Anyway, this film is also almost exactly the same version of his book even though there is little extra that is not so significant. What is clear, the decision of 'split' into two parts this is the right decision because it felt it would be difficult if you have to compress all the plots and subplots into one film only. So this is not just a marketing trick to rake in more money.

If the script is fine and the visuals can not be doubted, the latter is acting his supporters. And on this side was once again this movie did not disappoint. Apart from perhaps each actor / actress is understood correctly by the characters they played, director David Yates intervention in reviving this paper would not be underestimated. In short, the first part dai HARRY POTTER AND THE Deathly Hallows is not only worthy of a scraper dollars but also an entertaining film despite the dark nuances of this section more than the previous films.

Mereka bertiga tak punya banyak waktu karena Voldemort sudah merencanakan membakar peperangan yang selama ini selalu dikhawatirkan.

Kali ini tiga sahabat ini harus berjuang sendiri karena tak ada lagi Professor Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) yang akan mengawal mereka bertiga. Dalam perjalanan berbahaya ini Harry secara tak sengaja menemukan rahasia kuno: legenda Deathly Hallows. Di saat yang sama, peperangan sudah tak terelakkan lagi. Voldemort mengirim Death Eaters untuk mengambil alih Hogwarts. Death Eaters tak hanya ditugaskan menguasai Hogwarts namun juga mencari Harry Potter dan menyerahkannya hidup-hidup pada Voldemort. Sekarang tiba saatnya buat Harry Potter untuk memenuhi takdirnya sebagai yang terpilih.

Harry Potter adalah Daniel Radcliffe. Hermione Granger adalah Emma Watson. Ron Weasley adalah Rupert Grint. Tak bisa dipungkiri memang kalau ketiga aktor/ aktris ini memang sudah identik dengan karakter yang mereka perankan sejak hampir sepuluh tahun yang lalu itu. Fakta itu saja sudah membuat HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS bagian pertama ini menang di atas kertas. Satu dasawarsa sudah mereka bertiga menemani kita dan waktu yang cukup lama itu telah mengukir sebuah kesan yang sangat kuat di benak penonton.

Serial Harry Potter memang sudah mendekati tamat. Satu film lagi dan usai sudah kisah fantasi ini. Mungkin fakta itu juga yang membuat film ini jadi lebih spesial ketimbang bagian-bagian sebelumnya. Tapi tunggu dulu. Jadi sentimentil memang boleh tapi bagaimana pun film ini tetap punya nilai yang tetap tak bisa dikesampingkan. Dari sisi visual, jelas tak ada yang perlu dikhawatirkan dari film ini. Seperti biasa, adegan-adegan fantastis bisa dibuat begitu nyata seolah memang benar-benar terjadi namun tentu saja bukan itu saja masalahnya.

Soal alur cerita memang tak perlu banyak disinggung karena versi novelnya sudah terbit lebih dulu dan rasanya tak pantas kalau kita meremehkan hasil karya JK Rowling yang sudah mendapat penghargaan di mana-mana. Lagi pula, film ini juga nyaris sama persis dengan versi bukunya meski ada sedikit tambahan yang tak begitu signifikan. Yang jelas, keputusan 'membelah' bagian ini menjadi dua adalah keputusan yang tepat karena rasanya akan lebih sulit kalau harus memampatkan semua plot dan subplot itu ke dalam satu film saja. Jadi ini bukan sekedar trik marketing untuk mengeruk uang lebih banyak.

Kalau naskah sudah beres dan visual tak perlu diragukan, yang terakhir adalah akting para pendukungnya. Dan di sisi ini pun lagi-lagi film ini sama sekali tak mengecewakan. Selain mungkin masing-masing aktor/ aktris sudah paham benar dengan karakter yang mereka perankan, campur tangan sutradara David Yates dalam menghidupkan karya tulis ini pun tak bisa dipandang sebelah mata. Singkat kata, bagian pertama dai HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS ini tak hanya layak jadi pengeruk dolar tapi juga sebuah film yang menghibur meski nuansa bagian ini lebih kelam dari film-film sebelumnya.
